When We Are Weak, God Is Strong

Your failures and weaknesses is what makes God strong. "Imagine your weaknesses like jars, ready to be filled with My Power." (devotional, 2018). None of us like being weak. I, for one, know that I really hate the flaws I have and have had a lot of issues beating myself up internally when I mess up or when I feel like I've failed or disappointed God somehow.

Needless to say, it's quite a change for me to start viewing them as good things - as reasons why God will use me to help other people. Especially on days when it seems like my weaknesses aren't even helping me, let alone other people.

Do you struggle with forgiving yourself, or seeing your weaknesses as reasons why God will use you?

God has a special plan for your life. If you're like me, then you have heard that repeatedly throughout your life. It's time you start believing it. Whatever flaws you have, whether it's anger, addiction, a bad mouth, gluttony, stealing, selfishness, self critical, insecurities, or something else entirely, God will use it for good. One day, He will show you the reason why He allowed you to have that particular weakness. For now, it's up to us to trust Him, to trust that the Creator of the Universe knows best. His plan and His timing will fall into place just when you need it to be.

2 Corinthians 12: 9 - 11(NIV):

"But he said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.' Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ's sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong."
